Webinar Sept 17, 2020 - Strengthening Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives: Building on a Constructive Critique

This panel discussion will look at the effectiveness and impact of multi-stakeholder initiatives. In particular, it will build on MSI-Integrity’s recently released report ‘Not fit-for-purpose’, which pulls no punches in its assessment of forty MSI’s over the last decade. The report’s findings present an opportunity to reflect on the ways MSIs are working well and areas that need strengthening. The first hour will be a round-table discussion with panelists considering each of the reports six insights in turn. Questions from the online audience will be considered by the panel in the final half-hour. Join us for an enlightening and interactive discussion as we consider:

  • How can the voices of affected communities be strengthened within multi-stakeholder initiatives?
  • How can multi-stakeholder initiatives better protect rights-holders against human-rights abuses?
  • What steps need to be taken to ensure multi-stakeholder initiatives are fit-for-purpose?
